Good morning, and welcome back to another school year. Mr. Moore ends most HawkTalk programs with “The choice is yours,” and we know that you are faced with difficult choices every day. With questions of friendship, academic integrity, family, drugs, alcohol and sexuality sure to confront you during your teen years, you need a strong character to act as your guidepost when the going gets tough. Our character ed program is designed to give you some things to think about. Today, we are going to explore the topic of honesty, and why it’s sometimes a challenge to tell the truth.

Profile in Honesty from Human Relations Media
So the choice really IS yours. If you haven’t already done so, your teachers will be talking to you about academic integrity here at school, but you might want to consider with your friends how important honesty is in your relationships. And as a parent, and someone who is here at school to help you, honesty is something I value almost more than anything else. Because really, if you can’t be trusted, what do you really have….As you walk through the weeks ahead, try to remember that:
“Your character is defined by what you say and how you act,
even when no one is watching.”
