Hillview Middle School

This week in Character Ed, we will be launching a number of community service projects!  Students will have an opportunity to sign up to work on steering committees, and sign up for activities both here at school and in the greater community.  Here’s what’s happening:

For all Hillview students:
Winter Sings to Lytton Gardens on Dec. 4th and 14th
On site projects (to be announced) here at school at lunch on Tuesdays
For 6th graders:
Various “Drives” organized through advisory classes.
(Currently, through Nov. 21, are a Blanket Drive and a Book Drive)
Visits to the Food Closet in Palo Alto
For 7th graders:
A Bike-A-Thon and bake sale fundraisers
An environmental clean-up at Save the Bay followed by a class B-B-Q
For 8th graders
A car wash and bake sale fundraisers
An environmental clean-up with Save Our Shores followed by a class B-B-Q

Please encourage your child to sign up for one or more of these activities.  Such a big part

of character AND citizenship is serving others, and in a community as privileged as ours, it is important that we teach our children how to give back….

If you have questions, or would like to get involved yourself, please email Debbie Devoto ddevoto@mpcsd.org
